Nau Mai – Welcome

Naumai haeremai

Welcome to our third Hack Aotearoa AI in Healthcare Conference and Datathon event being held in partnership with MIT Critical Data and hosted by the Faculty of Medical Health Science at the University of Auckland, and the Division of Health Sciences at Otago University.

Hack Aotearoa 2023 will be held at the Pullman Hotel on Friday, March 17th and the datathon event on Saturday, March 18th to Sunday, March 19th will take place at the Owen G Glenn Building at the University of Auckland Business School.

The proposed theme of the conference and datathon is Mahitahi – partnerships and collaboration. Digital health and data science is a key enabler for transformations within health systems, organisations, and models of care – we aim to come together to develop a greater understanding of the respective fields, the opportunities to improve health outcomes and equity, and learn collaboratively through a datathon event. The event will also showcase Māori and Pacific data and digital innovation.

The datathon will utilise the MIMIC critical care dataset, and COVID-19 aggregated data exploring health inequities and epidemiology of COVID-19.

Hack Aotearoa is an exciting opportunity to advance the data and digital innovation landscape in Aotearoa and we invite you onboard our waka to help us achieve this goal.
